Partial State of Charge Tolerant

Partial state of charge, known as PSOC, which is a killer of lead-acid batteries, does not affect performance or battery life of a lithium battery. Sometimes batteries don’t get fully charged, or they regularly operate in a partial state of charge. Either way, you can count on RELiON lithium batteries living a long and productive life.

Temperature Tolerant

Lithium batteries can handle a wide variety of conditions and are even 2.5x more efficient at low temperatures than lead-acid while being able to safely operate up to 149°F (65°C).

More Usable Capacity

Lead-acid batteries are typically sized up to two times your energy needs to account for extended periods without sun and less usable energy with higher rates of discharge. Plus, you are typically cautioned to limit your use to 50% of the rated capacity, as using more can significantly reduce performance. Lithium batteries provide 100% of their rated capacity, regardless of the rate of discharge. And, you can use it all and still get substantially longer cycle life.

Highly Efficient

RELiON lithium batteries have super low resistance, allowing you to charge much faster. And lithium batteries are 99% efficient, minimizing the losses during charge. Compare that to traditional lead-acid batteries at 75-80% efficiency, which results in significant loss when recharging.

Long Life

RELiON lithium batteries provide up to 10 times longer life than lead-acid batteries, and they still provide 80% of the rated capacity after 3,500 cycles.

Fast Charging

Just thought you'd like to know that with our grid down for 1 week after hurricane Ian I was powering my entire house with solar and 6 of your RB48V300 batteries (A/C, washer, dryer, water heaters, oven, cooktop, others). The batteries never even broke a sweat! About 240 Ah used after dark and by 10AM next morning batteries were back at 100% charge. Thank you for this truly great product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my existing lead-acid battery charger (Wet, AGM or Gel) to charge RELiON lithium iron phosphate batteries?
Most likely, yes. Our lithium batteries are very charger-friendly. Most chargers today have a lithium charge profile, which is what we recommend using. AGM or gel charge profile chargers will work with our batteries. We do not recommend the use of a flooded charge profile with our batteries. These chargers may reach the overvoltage protection limit and disconnect. It won’t damage the battery but will likely result in charger faults. See our Lithium Charging Instructions for more details.
How long will it take to charge a LiFePO4 battery?
Lithium iron phosphate batteries can be charged in as fast as 1 hour. We recommend using a rate that charges our batteries in 2-5 hours. Please refer to the data sheet for your particular model, to find the recommended charge rates. All of our data sheets are available on our website within the product section.
